CitiHope Observes World Cancer Day 2012 Saturday, February 4, 2012 marks World Cancer Day. Despite many advances in detection and treatment protocols, cancer remains a leading cause of death worldwide. The World Health Organization predicts that worldwide deaths from cancer will rise from 7.6 million in 2008 to 13.1 million in 2030, with 70% of deaths occurring in low and middle-income countries. Drawing on over 20 years of experience, CitiHope International continues to focus its efforts on the prevention and treatment of cancer and other chronic diseases in the developing world.
