Hurricane Dorian Response - Updated 09/18/19

Hurricane Dorian made landfall as a powerful and slow-moving Category 5 storm on Sunday, September 1, 2019.

Having sustained winds of up to 185 mph and moving so slowly - just 1 or 2 mph - residents couldn't be given the all-clear until four days later, on Wednesday morning.

There has been severe, widespread damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure across both Abaco islands and Grand Bahama.

Thousands of people still need water and food assistance, and safe housing. Flooding damage is significantly impacting medical treatment and supplies.

We Are Helping

CitiHope has already sent 6 pallets of medicine - over $500,000 worth of antibiotics - to Grand Bahama and Abaco islands.

The first delivery of medicine treated patients in Grand Bahama in partnership with Gleaning for the World and Samaritan's Purse

Our second delivery of over $300,000 in antibiotics arrived via two small aircraft and was delivered to Treasure Cay on September 17th to treat patients on the Abaco islands. This grassroots response is being coordinated by Timothy Hess of Wintergreen Real Estate, and is resourcing Abaco Crash Fire Rescue and the Corbett Medical Center in Treasure Cay.

You Can Help Too!

At this time, we are urgently seeking donations to make the next round of deliveries happen. Please donate today, and share this opportunity with a friend!

EVERY DOLLAR MATTERS - we can multiply your impact by up to 40X by leveraging each $1 raised to send $40 in urgently needed medicine.

Please keep all of the people impacted, and the responders, in your prayers.  We will be sure to keep you updated as our Hurricane Dorian Response progresses.

Thank you for your generous support in times of crisis!
