Medicine Heading to Ukraine

Updated: May 18, 2022

On Friday, May 13, 2022, CitiHope shipped its first delivery - 49 pallets of medicine - for Ukraine.

This is the first shipment in a partnership with St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral's Humanitarian Center (located in Silver Spring, MD) to provide humanitarian relief to Ukraine.

CitiHope and St. Andrew UOC strongly support the Ukrainian people impacted by the Russian war on Ukraine, and the strategic partnership will bolster Ukraine’s health care infrastructure by providing critically needed medicine and medical supplies.

The medicine, valued at $2.8MM, was expertly received, packed and loaded by CitiHope partner Gleaning for the World in Concord, VA. It will be airlifted by UPS Air Freight from their Kentucky warehouse for delivery and distribution to hospitals and medical facilities by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

CitiHope wishes to thank the Very Rev. Fr. Volodymyr Steliac (pastor of St. Andrew the First-Called Apostle Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral) and his team at St. Andrew's Humanitarian Center for their diligence and inspiring efforts.

The next shipment for Ukraine is already staged, and CitiHope remains committed to supporting St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral and helping Ukraine’s health care system address the needs of its citizens affected by the war.
